Jane and Norman Habermann

Dedicated Legacy Circle members Jane and Norman Habermann focus their philanthropic energies on supporting education and healthcare, and are enthusiastic about investing in Santa Barbara City College because it makes higher education accessible to everyone.

"We appreciate the fact that the SBCC Foundation provides students with the support they need to pursue a college education and a career," says Jane. "I am especially impressed with the number of local students who enroll in the nursing program at SBCC and then find good jobs in healthcare, right here in our community." An SBCC Foundation Emeritus Board Member with 12 years of service, Jane also served as a 20-year board member for VNA Health (formerly Visiting Nurse & Hospice Care) and continues to be involved with their mission. She and Norman are also excited about the SBCC Promise, as it provides all local recent high school graduates with two years of college for free (all fees, books, and supplies are covered). By designating the SBCC Foundation in their estate plans, the Habermanns have made a world of difference for future students at SBCC.
